24Hr Homecare, LLC
Layoff timeline
1 EVENT24Hr Homecare LLC, an El Segundo-based provider of round-the-clock in-home caregivers, filed a WARN notice saying it will lay off 738 caregivers across California due to the unexpected end of a material third-party service arrangement and resulting lack of work. The company said the cuts will affect caregivers serving three large managed public healthcare plans — Health Net (Centene unit), CalViva Health and Community Health Plan of Imperial Valley — and are scheduled to begin Sept. 15. 24Hr Homecare attributed the reductions to benefit changes by Health Net and broader Medicaid funding cuts tied to recent federal legislation, and said it is working with Health Net, the California Department of Health Care Services and others to mitigate impacts and support continuity of care. The filings were made under the federal WARN Act and the company expressed disappointment over Health Net’s decision and concern for affected members, caregivers and families.
