1 EVENTFuture Proof Brands LLC, the Austin-based parent company of BeatBox Beverages, notified the Texas Workforce Commission that it will lay off 158 employees at its East Side headquarters. The company said affected employees have been informed and that the cuts will begin on Feb. 21. The move comes about six weeks after Anheuser-Busch bought a majority stake in BeatBox; the deal valued the brand at roughly $575 million and is expected to close by April. Company leadership characterized the layoffs as permanent and noted affected employees do not have bumping rights.
