1 EVENTLouisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP Building Solutions) filed a WARN Act notice saying it plans to cut 150 jobs at its Jasper, Texas mill as it indefinitely curtails oriented strand board (OSB) production due to weak demand. The company filed the notice Sept. 1 and stated the cuts are planned to be effective Oct. 2 at the plant on U.S. Highway 190 East in Jasper. LP characterized the move as unrelated to employee performance and said it will offer job search and career transition support and help employees apply for openings at other LP facilities. The Jasper mill produces approximately 475 million square feet (3/8-inch basis) of OSB, and the curtailment is tied to soft market demand for the product.
