Mountain Valley Golf Course

Mountain Valley Golf Course in Ryan Township, Schuylkill County, announced it will cease operations next month after the property was sold for commercial and industrial use. A WARN notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor indicates 111 employees will be impacted, with the notice listing a closing date of October 31, 2026; the owners had earlier said the 2026 season would be the course's last and initially cited a mid-October closure. The course operates two 18-hole public courses and an on-site restaurant, The Player's Club, all of which will be affected by the shutdown. The property was purchased by PNK Group of New York City, which has been acquiring Pennsylvania properties since 2022-2023.
