2 EVENTSNorWesCo filed a Worker Adjustment and Training Notification saying it will permanently close its Fife facility at 3011 70th Ave. E. and transfer work to other sites. The planned closure will result in 54 employees being laid off starting Oct. 16 and continuing through Dec. 14 depending on position; 43 of those workers are represented by Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 66. The company cited the facility's lease expiring as the reason for the shutdown. NorWesCo is owned by Gibraltar Industries and produces construction materials such as roofing and drywall products.
