1 EVENTPrintpack Inc. announced it will close its Elgin manufacturing plant (1400 Abbott Drive) beginning in early January 2026 and wind down operations through April 2026, resulting in 111 employees being laid off. The Atlanta-based flexible and specialty rigid packaging company filed a WARN notice indicating the layoff process will start in early January with layoffs continuing through April. Company COO Jack Austin said the decision was difficult and praised Elgin employees; Printpack plans to offer transfer opportunities, severance packages and career transition support. The closure was attributed to ongoing operational challenges, and the company has 17 U.S. operations overall.
