3 EVENTSRefresco Beverages US Inc. announced it will halt manufacturing at its Walla Walla bottling and manufacturing plant at 1164 Dell Ave., effectively closing the facility and associated warehouses at 1102, 1104 and 1106 Dell Ave. The planned shutdown will put 58 employees out of work, with manufacturing stopping by May 2 and additional closure and decommissioning to be completed by June 26. The company provided the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification to the Washington Employment Security Department; no reason for the closure was provided in the notice. A Refresco representative later provided comment to the reporting outlet. The layoffs are a planned, company-announced facility closure rather than an immediate past termination event.
