Sears was historically a large U.S. department store retailer offering appliances, tools, apparel and home goods. The original Sears, Roebuck and Co. business declined over decades; its remaining retail operations and many assets were subject to bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings in the late 2010s and early 2020s.
