2 EVENTSTwin City Foods notified the state via a WARN notice that it plans to lay off 109 employees from its packaging and processing facility at 501 W. Fourth Ave. in downtown Ellensburg as it consolidates operations with its Pasco plant. The layoffs are scheduled to begin Nov. 2 and will affect mostly members of Teamsters Local Union No. 760. The Ellensburg plant, which employs about 160 people and processes corn, peas and carrots for frozen export markets, will be consolidated as part of the company's operational consolidation. Twin City Foods, which merged with Smith Frozen Foods in 2024 under parent TCF Holdings Inc., also operates facilities in Pasco, Kennewick and Lake Odessa, Michigan, and is based in Stanwood.
