80 Acres Farms Faces Class-Action After Alleged Sudden Shutdown; Smaller WARN Notices Filed by Multiple Firms

80 Acres Farms — Four former employees filed a federal class-action alleging that 80 Acres Farms failed to provide the 60 days' WARN Act notice before shutting down earlier in August 2026, WLWT reported. The complaint says roughly 500 workers were terminated within 30 days of the plants' closing after a prospective acquisition fell through on Aug. 2; the company filed its WARN notice on Aug. 3. Plaintiffs include employees from San Antonio, Aurora, Colorado, and the company's Hamilton headquarters. The separations were scheduled for Oct. 19, 2026; employees were given at least 60 days' notice and may apply for other positions within the company. The filing stated the cuts were not due to relocation or contracting out and that affected employees are not unionized.

• Volume Services, Inc. submitted a WARN filing notifying regulators of planned cuts affecting 93 employees, according to a WARN filing with state regulators.

• Stockton Truss LLC filed notice that it would lay off 65 employees, per a WARN filing with state regulators.

• Vestis Services, LLC registered two separate WARN notices, each indicating planned cuts of 2 employees, according to WARN filings with state regulators.

• JeniusBank SMBC Manubank appears in multiple WARN filings reporting planned reductions of 2 employees in separate notices filed March 10 and Aug. 3, as shown in state WARN filings.
