Bechtel Power, Blue Cascade Orchards and Pacific Ag Services Among Firms Reporting Nearly 2,433 Job Cuts in WARN Filings

A series of WARN notices show 11 firms planning cuts totaling 2,433 employees, led by Blue Cascade Orchards and Pacific Ag Services LLC, according to state filings.

Bechtel Power Corporation, Blue Cascade Orchards and several staffing and agricultural firms filed WARN notices detailing planned workforce reductions totaling 2,433 employees between the notices, according to state filings.

Per a WARN filing with state regulators, Blue Cascade Orchards reported plans to cut 792 jobs. The filing listed no location detail beyond the notice.

A separate WARN filing shows Pacific Ag Services LLC intends to reduce its workforce by 530 employees. Another large filing from Loftus Administrative Services LLC cited planned cuts of 376 positions, per the state notice.

Construction and energy contractor Bechtel Power Corporation filed a WARN notice saying it plans to cut about 200 positions at its Reston, Virginia office (11955 Democracy Drive), the filing shows. The notice, signed Sept. 13 by Suchit Chopra, said the reductions stem from the company and TerraPower LLC deciding to "move forward separately" on the next phase of the Natrium Demonstration Project, prompting Bechtel to scale down operations supporting the project and reduce staffing at the Reston location. The filing states the layoffs are expected to begin on or about Nov. 16, 2026, and that Bechtel is attempting to find other assignments for affected employees, which could reduce the ultimate number laid off; if reassignment is not possible, the layoffs will be permanent. The notice also says the affected employees are non-union and lack bumping rights; no job-title breakdowns were provided.

Several staffing firms and smaller employers also submitted WARN notices. 4XH Logistics LLC reported planned cuts of 230 employees, and New Tech Global Staffing indicated reductions of 121 workers, per state filings. Full Steam Staffing filed two separate notices covering 91 and 19 employees respectively. Pathways Community Services dba Clarvida submitted two WARN notices totaling 67 planned layoffs (35 and 32). DesigneRX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. filed for a reduction of 7 positions.

All of the above facts are drawn from WARN filings with state regulators, which reported the planned employee counts and, in Bechtel's case, additional explanatory detail.

The filings list expected layoff dates ranging into November 2026 and do not provide further operational or financial commentary. No other sources were cited in the notices.
