Summary
A former Google employee recounts being laid off in November 2025 when his access was cut immediately and he received an HR email saying his role was no longer necessary. He had spent nearly six years at Google and was leading the data analytics and AI sales specialist team for Google Public Sector; Google later offered him a new role in early December, which he declined. The layoff prompted him to start a startup, Kanawai AI, relocate to San Francisco in July 2026, and live off savings while building the company. The article is a first-person narrative about one individual's layoff experience and subsequent career choices rather than a company-wide layoff announcement with numeric totals.
