WK Kellogg Scaling Back Operations at Memphis Plant, Union Alleges Contract Violations

Union leaders say Michigan-based WK Kellogg is scaling back operations at its Memphis plant and that the company is not following collective bargaining agreements during the workforce reductions. BCTGM Local 252G alleges WK Kellogg has refused to engage in meaningful negotiations, is disregarding seniority rules for job placements, and is favoring outside contractors or less senior employees over qualified bargaining unit members. The union has proposed alternatives to preserve jobs and reduce layoff impacts but says the company resisted cooperation and may face legal action if it violates the contract. The union will continue to document the company’s actions and may pursue legal avenues to enforce contractual rights.
