Lucid to Eliminates Second Shift at Casa Grande, Cutting 705 Jobs

Lucid Group filed a WARN notice saying it plans to permanently lay off 705 employees who work at or report to its Casa Grande, Arizona facility at 317 S. Thornton Road. The company said the Casa Grande facility will remain open but will eliminate second-shift workers to address changing business needs, a move the company estimates will save about $158 million annually. The affected roles include 215 production team members, 83 junior repair technicians, 53 production team leads, 48 maintenance technicians and staff across engineering, logistics, materials handling, environmental health and safety, security and other departments; the notice also includes some remote workers whose attribution to the site was unclear. The action was disclosed in a June 22 WARN notice and presented as a permanent workforce reduction tied to shifting business needs.
