Merck Files WARN to Cut 54 Jobs at Rahway, NJ Campus

Merck & Co., Inc. has filed a WARN Act notice indicating it plans to eliminate 54 positions at its Rahway, New Jersey campus in a round of cuts with effective dates noted between December 11, 2026 and January 4, 2027. The reductions are part of a global workforce reduction Merck first announced in July 2025 that aimed to eliminate 6,000 jobs and save $3 billion annually by the end of 2027. Merck & Co., Inc. disclosed this layoff in an official WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice recorded by the NJ state workforce agency. The notice covers 54 employees in Rahway, NJ, with the layoff effective December 11, 2026.
