Revol Greens' Medford Greenhouse Closure Could Put 89 Jobs at Risk

Revol Greens has postponed the planned closure of its Medford, Minn., greenhouse as it attempts to finalize a transaction or secure funding that could keep the facility open. In a supplemental WARN filing the company said it could close the greenhouse and lay off about 89 workers if a sale or financing is not secured; that closure and layoffs are currently on hold. If the transaction fails, the updated notice says the closure is expected during a two-week window from Oct. 15 to Oct. 29. Affected roles would span greenhouse, harvest and packhouse workers, growers, maintenance and sanitation staff, food safety specialists, delivery drivers and managers. The company first warned of the possible closure in August amid declining sales tied in part to reduced demand after a multistate cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to lettuce.
