Barrette Outdoor Living to close three South Jersey facilities, cutting 59 jobs

Barrette Outdoor Living Inc. announced it is closing three South Jersey facilities — sites on Tilton Road in Egg Harbor City, Wheaton Avenue in Millville, and a Boyle Transportation Services facility on Sharp Road in Marlton — with the move expected to eliminate 59 jobs. The company filed a notice with the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development citing an "economic downturn" as the reason, and the layoffs are to take effect Dec. 14. Barrette, founded in 1975 and based in Middleburg Heights, makes and sells aluminum fencing and other outdoor goods and was acquired by Oldcastle APG in 2022. The notice follows APG's recent expansion of vinyl production at other Barrette plants in Dover, Delaware and Nephi, Utah. A company representative was not available for comment at the time of the report.

Barrette Outdoor Living, Inc. disclosed this layoff in an official WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notice recorded by the NJ state workforce agency. The notice covers 59 employees in Egg Harbor City, NJ, with the layoff effective December 13, 2026.

That is roughly 3.9% of the 1,500 people Barrette Outdoor Living, Inc. employs.
