T-Mobile to cut 77 Washington employees, close six retail stores

T-Mobile USA filed a notice saying it plans to lay off 77 Washington employees between Sept. 21 and Nov. 18, citing changing business needs; 63 are newly affected while 14 were included in an earlier notice whose separation dates were deferred into the same period. The cuts are described as permanent and tied in part to relocations, with some affected workers offered opportunities to relocate. The layoffs affect multiple retail stores — including six listed store closures in Seattle, Bellingham, Bothell, Vancouver, Tacoma and Yakima — as well as Bellevue headquarters buildings, a Bellingham call center (which will remain open), and remote employees. Affected roles include product and engineering directors, technical project and product managers, systems architects, mobile associates, and retail store managers; the company noted there is no union at the affected locations.
